Catherine Mae Douds Stephens, 80, of Port Saint Lucie, FL formerly from Beaver, PA, she was reunited with her beloved mother, sisters and brother, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Born on October 24, 1936 in Monaca, PA., she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Douds. She was united in marriage to Richard G. Stephens on January 28, 1956 for a total of 61 years. Catherine “aka” Pork previously worked at Monaca Federal Savings and Loan before giving birth to her four children. Catherine then worked part time at Gimbels Department store in Monaca and Medi Mart in Beaver, PA while raising her children with Richard. She was a beloved member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Rochester, PA and Port St. Lucie, FL. Her favorite pass times include reading murder mysteries, gardening, walking and cuddling with her pomeranian, Tibi.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by a brother Andrew Douds, four sisters Caroline Hocanson, Estella Thomas, Mary Young, Irene Flint and daughter in-law Vicki Stephens.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband Richard Stephens and their three sons Richard D. Stephens, Terry L. Stephens and his wife Janice of Winston-Salem, NC, Eric J. Stephens and his wife Tracie Stephens of New Bloomfield, PA, daughter Sandra L. Lauver and her husband Ron Lauver of Jensen Beach, FL. Her six grandchildren Brittine McAninley, Seth Chaplin, Pauline Stephens, Zachary Stephens, Kylie Havenstien and Andrew Sorci will always remember her warm hugs and bright smile, as well as her great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, August 21, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in the Treasure Coast Seawind Funeral Home 950 S.E. Monterey Road Stuart, FL 34994.
