The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John O'Brien can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: John and I graduated from St. Bede School in 1966. We spent much of the next 4 summers together, riding our bikes, taking buses, and hitchhiking to caddy at Ridge Country Club. John was among the happiest and most fun loving people I have had the pleasure to know. I am so very sorry to learn of his passing. My sincere condolences go out to John's entire family. John, I will always remember you with a smile! -- Tim Sullivan, Oak Lawn, IL

Condolence: Sorry to hear of John's passing. As soon as I heard a song jumped into my mind from Oliver (our HS senior play). In "Who will Buy" he sang LOUDLY... KNIVES KNIVES TO GRIND, ANY KNIVES TO GRIND.
Always had a smile (and that indicated he was up to something). GREAT guy and a good friend back in those days (I left Chicago in 1979 to move West).
He would probably expect the proper Irish Celebration.
You guys might want to start writing down memories of John... "Minute vacations of him". Funny things he did, said... things he liked...

no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory no
one can steal
