Obituary for John Wisnoski

John Wisnoski
John William “Buddy” Wisnoski, 87, of Jensen Beach, Florida peacefully passed away in the arms of his wife on Sunday, April 30th surrounded by all his children and grandchildren. Buddy was born in West Allis, Wisconsin on July 27, 1929 to John and Lillie (Hagen) Wisnoski whom proceeded him in death. He was a proud Veteran, having served his country valiantly during the Korean Conflict, earning a Letter of Commendation, a Korean Service Medal, a Distinguished Unit Citation, and a 3 Battle Stars for Korean Service Medal. In 1955, he married his wife of 61 and half years, Carol, and together they had two children, Daniel and Lisa. They moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1959 where Buddy worked in the construction industry and then for the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier until his retirement. In 1972, Buddy and Carol bought a vacation property at Nettles Island in Jensen Beach, Florida where they spent many weekends and summers with their family and eventually built their retirement home where they have spent the past 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW as well as the Nettles Island Community Church, and the Nettles Island Men’s Club. He loved to spend time playing golf, having morning coffee on his porch visiting with all his neighbors who passed by, and spending time with his family.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Weston) Wisnoski of Jensen Beach, FL, his son Daniel (Ellen) Wisnoski of Boca Raton, FL, his daughter Lisa (Jeffrey) Robbins of Jensen Beach, FL; and by his grandchildren, Jennifer Wisnoski, John Wisnoski, Lauren (Mark) Kukkamaa, Katie (Jason) Beck, Kirsty (Johnny Grandinetti) Lord, Lilly Robbins, and Michaela (Tony) Uanino; by his great grandchildren, Lila and Maelie Beck, Hank and Mimi Kukkamaa, and Haven and Luca Grandinetti, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Buddy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a true servant’s heart, was a devoted Christian and there wasn’t anything he would not do for those he loved. He was affectionately known as Big Bad Bud and he will live on forever in our hearts and memories. The family is comforted knowing that he has heard his Savior say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” and they will be reunited with him again one day.

A memorial will be held on Friday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Circle Flagpole located by the Clubhouse on Nettles Island in Jensen Beach, Florida to all who wish to attend and pay their respects to him and the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Any expressions of sympathy can be left below or cards can be directed to Mrs. John Wisnoski, c/o Nettles Island Community, 9801 South Ocean Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
