Vivian Eileen (Nuttall) Day, 69, of Palm City, Florida, passed into eternal rest before dawn on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. She was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on January 25, 1947 to Gladys V. (Cattle) Nuttall and Everett D. Nuttall.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents (mother 2008, father 1977), younger brothers, Keithe A. Nuttall (1994) and Rodney S. Nuttall (2000), and niece, Cristina A. Nuttall (1995).
Vivian is survived by her husband Timothy A. Day of Palm City; sons, Brent A.C. Day of Denver, Colorado and Chad Day of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one step-daughter, Cindy Day (Danny) of Port Saint Lucie; one step-son Craig Day (Deedra) of Port St. Lucie; her brother, David Nuttall (Rose) of San Antonio, Texas and twelve grand-and-great-grand children, numerous nieces and nephews residing in Florida, Colorado, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.
Vivian's formal education began as a member of the first kindergarten classes in her hometown of New Lisbon, Wisconsin and culminated in the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 2012 from Capella University. For most of her adult life, she worked in the healthcare field, and was employed by the Martin Memorial Health System from 1974 to 1986 and again from 2000 to 2013. Vivian was a professor for Ashford University's on-line classrooms from 2010 to the time of her death. She was notably active in healthcare circles that promoted standardization of nursing practices/procedures and excellence in the practice of nursing, as well as involvement with training and supervising nurses to achieve maximum evaluations from Joint Commission hospital accreditation. In addition to the Stuart/Palm City area, throughout her life, Vivian lived/worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Boston, Massachusetts area, Corpus Christi, Texas and Farmington, New Mexico.
Vivian's family is grateful to the physicians and medical staff at Martin South for their herculean efforts and unparalleled loving care from her extended professional, social and church family. A Celebration of Life is planned for 7 pm Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Community Baptist Church, 777 SE Salerno Road, Stuart (http://cbcstuart.com).
