William Mackie Norris, 72 of Stuart, Florida passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Jensen Beach with family by his side and under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice.
Born July 20, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Edward P. and Agnes Kringle Norris. He has resided on the Treasure Coast since 1995, coming from Brooklyn.
William retired as a traffic signal engineer after 32 years with the New York Transit Authority.
He enlisted in the Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
William was a Roman Catholic and Friend of Bill W. He enjoyed fishing and boating.
Survivors include his children, William Matthew Norris and his wife Laura, Kelly Ann Tigar and her husband William, Timothy Norris and Kevin Norris; four grandchildren, Kristen Tigar, William “Billy” Tigar, William “Will” M. Norris, Jr. and Kaylee Norris; and sister, Sheila Stone.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon and brothers, Peter and James.
